Fifteen minutes

“Death was drowning. That was how it had often looked. He thought of fish opening their mouths on land to suck in something their gills no longer could. ‘Nothing new, nothing different…’ He had suddenly felt like a student. Every physician knew what deaths by suffocation were supposed to look like. Yet he knew none of his colleagues to whom it had been nothing new.” A story about the judgements a doctor has to make, their indication, and the question of how far reason can help.
